Walking the various districts of greater Los Angeles, I am frequently rewarded when finding people fully integrated in their location.

But it was only when culling a collection of LA street photos that I was struck by the constant activity of the city's residents. Whether my subjects were making a living, shuttling about, pausing, or skateboarding - lots of skateboarding -  they always exhibited intense purpose. Even a lunch-hour rest betrayed a thoroughly planned use of time.

With my photos of urban activity and streetscapes, my aim is to provide viewers new ways to identify with those who vitalize LA's public spaces.
